Evening Star Necklace

This is my first in a series of “themed necklaces”. The inspiration for this necklace is a line from a Christopher Marlowe play: “Thou art fairer than the evening air, filled with the beauty of a thousand stars.” This quote is engraved in the irregular rings around the pendant. At other points around the necklace are the words “bella sera” & “stella” (“good night” & “star” in Italian).

The pendant is engraved with four stars accented with a 22k overlay. The main body of the necklace is a hammered sterling silver looped link with a 14k gold bead. Sterling silver star charms & 9mm black fresh-water pearls accent the necklace.

A final antiquing serves to highlight the details. Approximately 19” long.
